Arch Reinsurance Group Appoints Soares and Schriber as CEOs
Arch Reinsurance Group announced the promotions of William Soares to CEO of Arch Reinsurance in Bermuda and Jon Schriber to CEO of Arch Reinsurance Company in the U.S. Both will report to Jerome Halgan, the recently promoted CEO of Arch's Global Reinsurance Group. Soares joined Arch in 2006 and has held various roles of increasing responsibility within Arch Re in Bermuda. He has served as President of Arch Reinsurance Ltd. since 2025. Schriber joined Arch as President of Arch Reinsurance Company in 2023.
Arch Insurance Launches Voluntary Insurance Benefits Suite
Arch Insurance North America announced the launch of a suite of products designed to enhance employee benefit portfolios for insurance brokers and agents. The Voluntary Insurance Benefits suite provides flexible coverage options that can help employees address out-of-pocket medical expenses, supplement hospitalization costs and travel-related risks.Designed to complement existing medical and benefits programs, the portfolio offers broad protection while requiring no medical underwriting for policy issuance. The suite includes three products: Accident Medical Expense: Reimburses insureds for actual covered out-of-pocket accident-related medical expenses incurred, subject to policy terms and limits. Hospital Cash Indemnity: Provides a daily indemnity benefit directly to insureds when they are hospitalized due to an accident or sickness. These benefits can be used at the employee's discretion to help cover expenses such as medical bills, transportation, childcare or other incidental costs that may arise during recovery. Annual Travel Insurance: Protects employees and their families throughout the year during personal leisure travel, with benefits such as trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical expenses, emergency evacuation, baggage delays and other travel-related protections. Employees enroll once annually and receive coverage for multiple trips throughout the year, subject to policy limits and terms.
Arch Capital Appoints Jerome Halgan and Michael Schmeiser as CEOs
Arch Capital Group announced the promotions of Jerome Halgan to CEO of Arch Global Reinsurance Group and Michael Schmeiser to CEO of Arch Global Mortgage Group. Both will continue to report to Arch President Maamoun Rajeh. Halgan joined Arch in 2009. He has served as President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Arch Reinsurance Group since 2024, and as CEO of Arch Re Bermuda since 2018. Schmeiser joined Arch in 2017 and has served as President and CEO of Arch U.S. Mortgage since 2019.
Arch Insurance Appoints New Leadership to Strengthen Wholesale Platform
Arch Insurance North America announced a series of leadership and distribution appointments designed to strengthen its Wholesale platform and support long-term growth in the Excess & Surplus market. As part of these changes, Jason Conkin has been promoted to the new position of Division President - Wholesale Property & Casualty where he will lead underwriting and expansion of profitable growth initiatives for E&S lines. Mike Ward has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Head of E&S Casualty and will report to Conkin, as will Joe Morrello, Executive Vice President, Head of E&S Property. Jared Stacey has also been named Senior Vice President, Head of Wholesale Distribution, reporting to Sue Srinivasan, Executive Vice President, Distribution. Stacey will be responsible for coordinating Wholesale distribution strategy, enhancing alignment with underwriting teams and delivering a more consistent experience for Wholesale partners. Additionally, Valerie Turpin, Division President - Property, has announced her retirement, effective July 1, after nearly eight years leading the Property business for Arch Insurance.
