Cantaloupe downgraded to Hold from Buy at Benchmark

Benchmark downgraded Cantaloupe to Hold from Buy after the company agreed to be acquired by 365 Retail Markets in a transaction with an equity value of approximately $848M, or $11.20 per share in cash.

Cantaloupe to be acquired by 365 Retail Markets for $11.20 per share in cash

Cantaloupe announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by 365 Retail Markets in an all-cash transaction with an equity value of approximately $848M. Cantaloupe shareholders will receive $11.20 per share in cash, a 34% premium to the unaffected stock price on May 30. 365 Retail Markets is a portfolio company of Providence Equity Partners. The transaction, unanimously approved by Cantaloupe's board, is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals. Cantaloupe will become a privately-held company upon completion.

Cantaloupe received bids over $10 per share, SI says

The final round of takeover bids for payment firm Cantaloupe are in and multiple parties participated in the process, a source reportedly told Street Insider. The payment company has received bids of over $10 per share, according to the report. Shares of Cantaloupe are up 57c, or 7% to $8.94 in afternoon trading. Previously, on February 25, Reuters reported that the company was exploring strategic options, including a potential sale or a go-private transaction.
