BlackRock Municipal Income Quality Trust (the Trust) is a closed-end management investment. The Trust’s investment objective is to provide current income exempt from United States federal income taxes, including the alternative minimum tax. Under normal circumstances, the Trust seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its managed assets in municipal bonds exempt from United States federal income taxes, including the United States federal alternative minimum tax. The Trust also invests at least 80% of its managed assets in municipal bonds that are investment grade quality at the time of investment or if unrated, determined to be of comparable quality by the investment adviser at the time of investment. The Trust may invest up to 20% of its managed assets in securities that are rated below investment grade or are considered by the Advisor to be of comparable quality, at the time of purchase.
