Eve Air Mobility Completes First Transition Flight of eVTOL Prototype

Eve Air Mobility announced that its engineering prototype has completed its first partial transition flight, marking an important milestone in the development and testing of the company's electric vertical takeoff and landing, or eVTOL, aircraft. The flight involved the activation of the aircraft's rear pusher propeller and thus signified the start of the transition phase from vertical to wing-borne flight. During the test, the aircraft attained a stabilized speed of 27 knots and a maximum ground speed of 30 knots whilst the pusher was activated up to 1,200 RPM. The flight took 3 minutes and 9 seconds, travelled approximately 0.84 nautical miles and attained a maximum height of 90 feet above ground level. The transition phase is one of the most critical aspects of eVTOL flight, as it involves the aircraft moving from vertical lift to forward flight. The successful completion of this initial partial transition test further advances Eve's efforts to expand the aircraft's flight envelope and validate system performance.

Eve Air Mobility Partners with Florida DOT to Advance AAM Initiative

Eve Air Mobility announced a partnership with the Florida Department of Transportation, or FDOT, for a focused Advanced Air Mobility, or AAM, initiative at SunTrax Air. The FDOT-led initiative will bring together Eve's expertise in eVTOL aircraft, operations, and services with SunTrax Air's research, testing, and validation capabilities. The effort will focus on delivering insights into the infrastructure, operational procedures, and airspace navigation procedures needed to enable the safe and efficient integration of Advanced Air Mobility into Florida's transportation network. Owned and operated by FDOT, SunTrax Air serves as Florida's dedicated Advanced Air Mobility research and development hub, providing a collaborative environment to evaluate technologies, operational concepts, and supporting infrastructure for next-generation aviation.

Eve Air Mobility Announces Eve 100 Certification Progress

Eve Air Mobility announced two milestones in the certification process for the Eve 100, the company's electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft: Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency has opened a sectoral consultation process on updated airworthiness criteria for the aircraft, and Eve has applied to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency to initiate its Type Certificate validation process. Eve Air said: "Together, these developments underscore the momentum behind Eve's broader certification strategy and reinforce the Company's disciplined approach to working with leading aviation authorities across Brazil, the United States and Europe to support future international operations. ANAC's publication of the updated criteria marks another important step in the Eve 100 Type Certification process and contributes to the development of a robust regulatory framework for eVTOLs. Comments can be submitted until August 18."
