Mission Produce Obtains Antitrust Clearance for Calavo Acquisition
Mission Produce (AVO) and Calavo Growers (CVGW) announced, in connection with Mission Produce's pending acquisition of Calavo, that Mission Produce has obtained antitrust clearance from Mexico's Federal Economic Competition Commission. This clearance satisfies the acquisition's closing condition set forth in the previously announced merger agreement regarding the receipt of antitrust approval in Mexico. As such, subject to the continued satisfaction of all closing conditions, Mission Produce and Calavo currently expect that the transaction will close on May 28.
Roth Capital Calls Mission Produce's Acquisition of Calavo Growers Positive
Roth Capital analyst Gerry Sweeney views Mission Produce's (AVO) acquisition of Calavo Growers (CVGW) as "highly positive." The deal should drive greater scale and utilization of the company's distribution assets, the analyst tells investors in a research note. Mission Produce Acquires Calavo Growers for $27 per Share
After Mission Produce (AVO) announced a definitive agreement to acquire Calavo Growers (CVGW) for $27 per share in cash-and-stock, Lake Street analyst Ben Klieve said the "strategically sound" transaction expands Mission's scale in North American avocados while accelerating diversification into higher-growth, value-added prepared foods. The firm reiterates a Buy rating and $18 price target on Mission shares.
