Stryker's Sonopet 3 Receives FDA Clearance
Stryker announced that Sonopet 3, its latest ultrasonic bone and soft tissue removal platform, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA. The first clinical cases using Sonopet 3 are expected to begin in October, with a full commercial launch anticipated later this fall.
Stryker Invests $400M in CMR Surgical with Exclusive Acquisition Option
Stryker and CMR Surgical announced a strategic equity investment of approximately $400M by Stryker with an exclusive option for Stryker to acquire the remaining equity of CMR Surgical, and an exclusive U.S. commercial agency agreement for the Versius portfolio. Stryker will serve as the exclusive U.S. sales agent for the Versius portfolio, while CMR Surgical will continue to lead portfolio development and commercialization in markets outside the United States. Stryker's exclusive acquisition option provides Stryker the opportunity to acquire 100% of CMR Surgical's outstanding equity in the future, subject to the agreement's terms. This transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
Stryker Announces Kevin Lobo to Transition to Executive Chair
Stryker announced that as part of a planned succession process, Kevin Lobo will transition to the role of executive chair of the board of directors, effective January 1, 2027. Spencer Stiles, currently president and COO of Stryker, will succeed Lobo as CEO and will also be appointed as a member of the company's board at that time. Lobo joined the company in 2011 as group president, became CEO in October 2012 and was appointed chair of the board in July 2014.
Bel Fuse Appoints Richard Hamilton as SVP and General Counsel
Bel Fuse (BELFA) announced that Richard Hamilton will join the Company as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary effective September 28. Hamilton will lead Bel's global legal function and serve as a strategic advisor to the Company's executive leadership team and Board of Directors. In his role as Corporate Secretary, he will oversee corporate governance and Board matters, while supporting the Company's public-company reporting, regulatory compliance, commercial activities, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, and other legal matters. Most recently, he served as Deputy General Counsel at Stryker Corporation (SYK).
Stryker Successfully Completes First Surgery Using Apple Vision Pro
Stryker (SYK) announced that the first surgical procedure using SportSuite Vision on Apple (AAPL) Vision Pro was successfully completed at Duke Health. SportSuite Vision received FDA De Novo authorization on July 17, making it the first application authorized by the FDA for intraoperative use with Apple Vision Pro and marking a new milestone for spatial computing in the operating room.
