Raytheon Selected to Modernize U.S. Space Force Radar Systems
Raytheon, an RTX business, has been selected to modernize U.S. Space Force radar sites that serve as the outermost layer of the nation's missile-defense architecture. These strategic sensors provide early warning of launches, characterization of objects and activity tracking in space. Through the Ground-Based Radar Digitization program, Raytheon will work with the Space Force to modernize long-serving systems, strengthening domain awareness and supporting a more resilient, layered security architecture. The program will modernize and upgrade existing systems to enhance overall performance, improve reliability, and support more advanced operational capabilities.These updates will help ensure the radars continue to provide critical ground-based early warning and space monitoring capabilities for decades to come.
RTX Awarded $8B Contract for Strategic Communications Terminals
RTX has been awarded an $8B maximum ceiling, cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of terminal developmental modernization, production restart services, and technical studies associated with Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center's Strategic Communications Terminals. Work is expected to be completed by Oct. 12, 2036. This contract was a sole source acquisition. FY26 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $800,000 are being obligated at time of award. The Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center is the contracting activity.
Raytheon Successfully Tests New Coyote Block 2C+RM Upgrades
Raytheon, an RTX business, successfully completed three tests of its new Coyote Block 2C+RM upgrades, advancing the program from concept to testing in just 15 months. These Raytheon-funded developmental testing events show rapid progress of current Coyote Block 2C+RM interceptor upgrades to support an urgent joint U.S. military mission to counter evolving drone threats. The Coyote Block 2C+RM upgrade builds on the combat-proven performance of current Coyote variants, which have intercepted hundreds of drones. This effort intends to integrate a rocket motor for faster launch and flight, along with a new seeker and warhead designed to defeat all classes of current and emerging drone threats.
Raytheon Awarded Contract from Office of Naval Research
Raytheon, an RTX business, has been awarded a contract from the Office of Naval Research to develop advanced target-detection capabilities for naval radar systems. Under the contract, Raytheon's Advanced Technology team will develop and evaluate advanced signal and data-processing algorithms and integrate targeted software upgrades to significantly extend detection range, increase sensitivity and improve radar-system efficiency. These enhancements will undergo rigorous laboratory and field testing to validate performance and operational use, preparing them for transition into Raytheon's SPY-6 family of radars and other future naval radars.
Raytheon Secures $6.3B Missile Contract
Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a five-year contract, with two additional option years, valued up to $6.3B for the production and sustainment of Standard Missile-3 Block IB interceptors. The contract, which is part of the recent landmark agreements between Raytheon and the Department of War, supports urgent replenishment of missile defense inventory that has been successfully used in combat and remains central to protecting U.S. forces, allies and critical infrastructure. RTX has made significant investments to expand capacity and accelerate production of critical munitions including the Standard Missile Family. Production under this contract will be primarily completed at Raytheon facilities in Tucson, Ariz. and Huntsville, Ala.
