Bruker Releases Draft Atlas of Human Plasma Proteome
Bruker announced a seminal bioRxiv preprint, describing a draft atlas of the human plasma proteome at isoform, or proteoform, resolution. The study was conducted by principal investigator Markus Ralser at Charite - Universitatsmedizin Berlin and collaborators. The atlas reveals extensive proteoform diversity among abundant plasma proteins involved in molecular transport, complement activity and coagulation. It provides a framework for understanding why protein measurements by affinity and mass spec-based proteomics technologies diverge, particularly for low-abundance proteins and for proteins occurring in many molecular isoforms
Bruker Corporation Unveils New Protein Analysis Workflows
At the Human Proteome Organization World Congress 2026, Bruker Corporation announced unique new timsUltra AIP and timsOmni workflows for deeper protein-sequence coverage, targeted validation, mobility-resolved glycopeptide characterization, structural proteomics, and oligonucleotide analysis. Multi-enzyme dia-PASEF provides additional peptide information for investigations of isoforms and proteoforms, while ProteoScape workflows connect PASEF discovery with prm-PASEF target validation on the same timsTOF platform. Novel timsOmni and integrated HDX-MS workflows extend structural analysis to glycopeptides, proteins, and nucleic acids. "We are combining proteome depth, PTMs, proteoforms, protein interactions, and conformational and spatial context to enable richer multimodal training data for next-generation biological AI models," said Frank Laukien, CEO. "These complementary molecular dimensions can extend existing models for drug discovery and mechanisms of action with information closely linked to biological function, helping advance molecular medicine more rapidly in the post-genomic era."
Bruker Corporation Secures Over $6M NMR Order from UC Berkeley
Bruker Corporation announced a multi-system order from the University of California, Berkeley for high-field Nuclear Magnetic Resonance instrumentation at the Pines Magnetic Resonance Center. The investment will enhance access to next-generation NMR technologies, including 800 MHz-class instrumentation. These capabilities strengthen research in chemistry, materials science, structural biology, and related fields across UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The investment is centered on a Bruker AV NEO-X 800 MHz spectrometer equipped with a cryogenically cooled MAS CryoProbe, complemented by several additional NMR systems and upgrades supporting solid-state, solution-state and Dynamic Nuclear Polarization research. The UC Berkeley NMR order exceeds $6M and is expected to be delivered in 2027.
Bruker and Luvata Announce Strategic Collaboration
Bruker Energy & Supercon Technologies, a segment of Bruker, and Luvata Materials & Solutions, a Business Unit of Luvata Group, announced a strategic collaboration to support the growing demand for superconducting materials and technologies required by magnetic confinement fusion power demonstration plant projects worldwide.
