🥈 Tier 2: The Primary Challengers

  • 32°C (46%): Positioned as the most viable alternative, 32°C maintains a 46% chance of resolving true. Its “Buy Yes” shares currently trade at 46¢.

  • Alternative Options: This includes 34°C (3%), 35°C (1%), and 30°C (0.8%).
  • Speculative Volume: Despite low statistical likelihood, certain long-tail contracts like 29°C are still attracting notable interest.

Result Rules

This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 28 Sep '26.

The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm

In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.

This market will resolve once data for this date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, whichever comes first.

The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.

Any revisions published after the Hong Kong Observatory's initial publication of data for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution. That initial publication is the revisions cutoff.

In the case that the Resolution Source publishes data, sufficient to settle a Market, that is clearly erroneous and the result of technical or operational error, or of unauthorized interference with the Resolution Source or its data, the Market may remain open for a period of up to seven (7) calendar days (ET) from the time of the original release, in anticipation of a correction by the Resolution Source. If the Resolution Source publishes a corrected value within that period, that value will be eligible for resolution. If no corrected value is published within that period, Polymarket will issue a Clarification to determine whether the originally published value may be eligible for resolution, or whether other action is required to preserve the orderly functioning of the Market.

Revisions remain subject to the cutoff above. The only exception is a correction of a clearly erroneous print under the preceding paragraph, which will be used even if published after the cutoff.

AI Valuation Analysis: Finding Market Mispricings & EV Gaps

While human consensus and speculative volume shape the broader prediction market, our quantitative algorithms offer a data-driven counter-perspective. By analyzing fundamental signals, underlying trends and historical distributions, our AI Valuation model calculates an independent “Fair Value” probability for each outcome.

Comparing this Fair Value against the current Trade Value uncovers major disparities — known as the Expected Value (EV) Gap. Contracts with a positive EV Gap represent statistically underpriced outcomes, whereas a negative EV Gap flags a potential market overreaction.

Top AI Alpha & Mispriced Arbitrage Opportunities

Based on the latest data model run, several key contracts stand out with significant deviations:

  • The Most Overvalued Outcome 33°C currently trades at 48.5%, but our AI places its Fair Value at just 27.3%. This creates a large negative EV Gap of -21.2%, suggesting the crowd may be overhyping this outcome and driving the premium too high.
  • The Best Value Play (Highest EV) Our model identifies 29°C as the premium value opportunity on the board. While the market only assigns it a 0.5% trading probability, our AI’s Fair Value assessment sits at 8.2% — yielding an impressive +7.6% EV Gap.
  • Under-the-Radar Dark Horses Other notable discrepancies include 31°C (EV Gap: +3.5%) and 30°C (EV Gap: +1.5%). These long-tail opportunities are heavily discounted by the live order books despite stronger statistical backing from our predictive model.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the current market consensus on "Highest temperature in Hong Kong on September 28?"?

As of the latest update, 33°C leads the field as the frontrunner with a 48.5% win probability, followed by 32°C at 46% and 31°C at 3.5%. Total trading volume for this pool has reached $91K, indicating deep liquidity and high trader engagement.

How does the AI Fair Value differ from the live Market Trade Value?

The live Market Trade Value reflects public sentiment, order-book momentum and speculative capital. Our AI Fair Value is computed independently with quantitative models that strip out hype to focus on underlying data. When the two diverge, it creates an EV Gap, flagging where the market may be mispricing an outcome.

Which outcome represents the highest Expected Value (EV) right now?

Our latest run flags 29°C as the most significant mispricing. While the market trades it at a 0.5% implied probability, our AI calculates a Fair Value of 8.2% — an Expected Value gap of +7.6%, making it the premium value play in this pool.

Is the market consensus overreacting to any specific outcome?

Yes — our data suggests a notable overreaction around 33°C. The crowd has pushed its live Trade Value up to 48.5%, yet our Fair Value assessment puts its real likelihood at just 27.3%, a negative EV Gap of -21.2% that signals the contract is overpriced.

Are there any high-value dark horse options hidden in the long-tail data?

Absolutely. Beyond the headline outcomes, our model highlights under-the-radar potential in lower-ranked options. 31°C holds a positive EV Gap of +3.5%, and 30°C shows +1.5%. These contracts are discounted by live order books despite stronger quantitative backing.
