Zapp completes homologation of i300 in the UK

Zapp Electric Vehicles Group has received the required type approval from the Vehicle Certification Agency in the United Kingdom confirming that i300s produced in conformity with the previously announced European Community Whole Vehicle Type Approval can also be registered for sale in Great Britain.

Zapp appoints first authorized reseller in Europe

Zapp Electric Vehicles Group announced it has appointed Green Mopeds as its first authorised reseller of Zapp's urban electric motorcycle, i300, throughout Great Britain. Customers will be able to see i300 on display and arrange for test-rides from the Green Mopeds location in West London. In addition, Green Mopeds will provide delivery and after-sales support utilising Zapp's proprietary drop-ship-direct-to-customer premium service model. Zapp anticipates fulfilling orders for i300 from its newly opened micro-factory reference site, which can produce up to 21,500 units per year. From this strategic location in the Bangkok Free Trade Zone, Zapp plans to fulfil domestic orders within Thailand as well as export internationally into key markets in Asia and Europe following the recent announcement of homologation in the European Union. The Company also intends to replicate its cost-effective micro-factory in other regions with high demand for two-wheelers, including India, as additional resellers are appointed, and demand grows.

Zapp EV entered into turnkey EPC agreement with AIH Group

Zapp Electric Vehicles announced it has entered into a turnkey engineering, procurement and construction, EPC, agreement with AIH Group to deliver its low-cost manufacturing reference site in the Bangkok Free Trade Zone, which is a 100 acre campus near Thailand's capital city offering a total of 220,000 square meters in manufacturing capacity. The new reference site will showcase Zapp's flexible manufacturing and Gen-2 sustainable assembly innovations, and completion is expected by early 2025. It will also serve as a template for Zapp to roll out an anticipated series of such proprietary sites around the world that can be operated by any number of contract manufacturers, each with an annualized production capacity of up to 20,000 units and located in regions where Zapp sees significant sales growth potential.

Maxim starts Zapp at Buy, sees significant sales ramp in FY25-26

As previously reported, Maxim initiated coverage of Zapp with a Buy rating and $7 price target. The company has secured contract manufacturing agreements for its new electric motorcycle in India and Thailand, along with regulatory approvals for sales in the U.K. and Thailand, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The first sales of Zapp's electric urban motorcycle are expected in the second half of FY24, with a significant ramp coming in FY25 and FY26, the firm added. Maxim is also positive on Zapp's innovative performance, reliability, and safety features that will lead to sales in multiple countries that currently have mostly loud and polluting internal combusting engine motorcycles on city streets.
