Reports Q2 CET1 capital ratio 11.06%. Reports Q2 net charge-offs .18%. Li Yu, chairman and CEO, commented, "We are pleased to report net income for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, of $33.5 million or $2.78 per share, which increased from the previous quarter of $2.4 million and an increase of $693,000 over the same quarter last year."
Preferred Bank Reaches $5.7M Settlement Agreement with Borrower
Preferred Bank announced it has entered into a settlement agreement regarding a commercial and industrial loan with a borrower. Under the agreement, the bank expects to receive a total of $5.7M over an eleven-month period on a loan that was previously charged off in the second quarter of 2024.
Li Yu: Q1 Net Income at $31.1 Million
Reports Q1 book value $65.04. Reports CET1 capital ratio 10.87%. Li Yu, chairman and CEO, commented, "Net income for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, was $31.1 million or $2.53 per diluted share compared to $34.8 million or $2.79 per diluted share recorded in the previous quarter. This quarter's net income was negatively affected by the Fed's rate cuts and reversal of interest income related to a large relationship which was placed on nonaccrual status."
Li Yu: 2025 Net Income Reaches $133.6 Million
Li Yu, Chairman and CEO, commented, "I am pleased to report fourth quarter net income of $34.8 million or $2.79 per share and for the full year 2025, net income of $133.6 million or $10.41 per share, which makes our profitability among the top echelon of the banking industry. The Bank's net interest margin for the fourth quarter was 3.74%, a decrease from third quarter, due mainly to the interest rate cuts implemented by the Federal Reserve in September and December. However, market rates on deposits have not kept pace with the rate cuts as competition for deposits remains elevated."
Preferred Bank announces Q3 EPS of $2.84, surpassing consensus of $2.57
Reports Q3 book value per share $62.81. Reports Q3 CET1 capital ratio 11.34%. Reports Q3 net charge-offs .04%. Li Yu, chairman and CEO, commented, "We are pleased to report a quarterly record for diluted earnings per share of $2.84 for the third quarter of 2025. Net income for the quarter was $35.9 million. For the quarter, nonperforming loans decreased significantly from $52.3 million at June 30, 2025 to $17.6 million as of September 30, 2025. The primary reason for the decrease is the foreclosure of a loan with the balance transferred to OREO. We are happy to report that the OREO asset has already been sold as of this writing, and a large pre-tax gain was also recorded on the sale which will be reported in our fourth quarter results. Net charge-offs were $1.6 million on a year-to-date basis. This quarter we have also recorded reasonable growth in both loans and deposits. Total loans increased by $132.4 million or 2.3% on a linked quarter basis. Deposits also increased by $151.3 million or 2.5% on a linked quarter basis. Our customers appear to be slightly more optimistic but still cautious as there are a lot of uncertainties remaining in our economy. Worth noting is that without the aforementioned loan transferred to OREO, loan growth would have been near $170 million for the quarter. Net interest income and the net interest margin both increased from the previous quarter while noninterest expense was relatively unchanged from previous quarters. In late June, regulators approved our stock repurchase program but for most of the time since then, the market price was above what we were willing to pay to buy it back. During the third quarter, we repurchased a total of 70,842 shares for total consideration of $6.3 million."
